Junior Hockey at Yarra
Yarra has a proud tradition of developing young hockey players — our juniors are the lifeblood of the club and the heart of everything we do.
Whether you’re new to hockey or aiming high, we’ve got a program for every age and ability. Our junior teams regularly compete at the highest levels across Shield, Pennant and District grades — and over the years, many Yabbies have gone on to represent at the Junior State Championships, Victorian State Teams, and even the Australian national team.
Most players start with Hookin2Hockey, a fun, welcoming introduction that builds skills, confidence and friendships. From there, juniors progress through Under 10s to Under 18s, each with dedicated training sessions and competitions.
We’re a true community club, and parents play a huge role — from cheering on the sidelines to helping in the canteen, managing teams, or joining in our social events.
